Supporting the Foundation

The Foundation could not move forward, fund its studies and programs, or have an impact on post-acute/long-term care practice and research without the support of individuals and organizations that share our vision.

The Foundation relies not only on support received from our corporate and state chapter sponsors, but also from individual donations. In addition to monetary donations, our volunteers donate hundreds of hours of their time to support the Foundation's mission. All contributors are acknowleged in our Annual Reports and on our website under List of Supporters according to level of support.

Contributions to the Foundation can be made online or by making a mail-in donation.

Wall of Caring at AMDA's Annual Symposium

The Wall of Caring began at the 2002 AMDA Annual Symposium and continues to be a popular tradition at each annual symposium. The Wall is placed at the Foundation’s booth and contributors are asked to write a tribute to a mentor, family member, colleague or someone else who has been an inspiration to them in their life. The Wall is then constructed with individual "bricks" that have a personalized tribute on them. The Wall is a very visible means for AMDA members to support the activities of the Foundation by making a contribution to the Wall of Caring and honoring someone special.

As the Foundation pursues its vision of advancing high quality, innovative practices and studies, and educating future practitioners through the post-acute/ long-term care continuum, it is also focused on enhancing public awareness of the care, compassion, and dedication that practitioners in this setting live and breathe every day. The Foundation wanted to provide the opportunity for everyone to contribute their sentiments to the Wall of Caring. With that goal in mind, the Foundation developed a website devoted specifically to tributes of respect, thanks, inspiration, and appreciation. In addition to the tributes that are gathered at the annual symposium, the Wall of Caring website allows people to contribute their sentiments to the Wall year round.
