Last year, the Foundation initiated an Annual Giving campaign that will enable the enhancement and expansion of the popular Futures Program, recognition of the excellence in our members and facilities through our award programs, the advancement and promotion of long-term care research, and enhancement of global awareness of long-term care excellence. The Foundation Board has set a goal of raising $100,000 to fund these initiatives and support and enable a new era of post-acute/long-term loan quality.
“It’s given me a great deal of professional pride and personal satisfaction to see practitioners find a professional home with AMDA – The Society for Post-Acute & Long-Term Care Medicine. The Foundation for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine has helped educate people about post-acute/long-term care and provide them with professional role models in this setting. This is a cause I believe in,” said Foundation Chair Daniel Swagerty, MD, CMD.
The Foundation is a lean, efficient organization that makes the best use of every penny. Among the most popular Foundation initiatives, for instance, also is an excellent investment. The Futures Program is one of the most innovative initiatives out there to address the workforce challenges facing post-acute and long-term care medicine. We hope to expand the program to reach more residents and fellows, as well as other young interdisciplinary practitioners and mid-career professionals. This is a wise investment. As Dr. Swagerty said, “Our Futures graduates have taken our investment in them much further than we ever could have hoped. Not only have they become leaders in their own right, but they setting an example for other young practitioners who might have an interest in long-term care.”
The Foundation is a legacy of quality care that you can embrace and celebrate, whether you are a practitioner, patient, family member, or other stakeholder. How do you want to be remembered?
